    A bit of a sideshow to the main event, which would be fine if that had been explained prior to purchasing the book. The author tried to do this, but itunes didn't. Just as you are getting into Kvothe's story you get dragged into Auri's repetitive more than slightly OCD world in the underthing, which makes a bit of sense in the end, but is a bit painful (and self satisfying, almost pervy, in a literary sense) in the meantime. I read a lot of books, but don't consider myself a literary person, maybe thats why I didn't really appreciate this book. The only way I could appreciate it, was for the anchor points to the trilogy, of alchemy and Kvothe. In which I'm not sure it belongs. But perhaps that is the point.
