Demonic Toys Review

I always loved horrors with dolls, puppets etc. Demonic Toys delivers exactly that and sometimes even more. The toys are awesome (except the robot - major loser) especially the sounds they produce. Oh boy I watched it again for this review and it really has a good replay factor.

So what we have here is a few people trapped in an old toy warehouse. A demon gives some of the toys power to kill these people. His plan is to take the body of an unborn child inside the main female character. Blah blah who cares. This demon is constantly in shape of a kid. And believe me you will want to mutilate this irritating brat for eternity. Interesting that he can choose his shape. Well it's obvious he's a pervert.

The trapped ones are the female cop (main character) Judith, delivery boy Mark who is introduced as a tough guy rebel but turns out a chicken (other main character), Anne the runaway girl who pretends to be smart, the cuffed delinquent and Charnetski the fat guard who gets verbally abused by Oopsy Daisy. These characters are quite unimportant since we have the toys.

Oopsy Daisy is awesome. Almost every line is consisted of indeed foul language and you got to love it when it's coming from a baby doll. And guess what? Oopsy can even draw pentagrams, use a knife, shit her pants and shoot from a gun. Really nasty. The teddy bear is right next to Oopsy in terms of quality. Has a somewhat defective mouth but his roaring rocks. Cute. His introduction is hilarious as we see a guy pointing without much reason towards the snapping mouth. Naturally teddy bites off his fingers. Ok so the characters are pretty retarded at times but that's just what we expect. Just like jack in the box. The way he opens his mouth and laughs is astounding. And what's with the obsession of biting the cheek? Very interesting. Surely a sort of underground demon fetish. We can easily forget the robot since he sucks big time. Shooting lasers? Come on, we want more blood thirsty critters.

The killings are pretty good as we see the toys doing some crazy stuff like teddy holding a baseball bat. But the main demon is completely idiotic. Not only as the kid (which defies any sort of taste) but also in his true form. The guy has some seriously bad lines and even a few perverted ones. Can be funny but mostly very irritating. Ending is notoriously crappy which is actually a good thing. Why? Don't know it's just crappy funny. Basically two kids fighting and that says a lot. Anyway the point is - if you don't get frustrated by the demons voice - you're far better than me. Off course that's part of the charm this movie has.

So I'll sum it up. You have a ridiculous story, bad acting, awesome killer toys, an extremely retarded bad guy and profanities galore. Some things could have been worse but we can't have everything. Maybe more Oopsy Daisy and less demon crap-o-rama. Great movie that offers lots of fun. WATCH IT!
