Invasion U.S.A. Review
Movie starts with a bunch of immigrants heading for Florida with a really crappy boat. They are greeted by the USA coast guard ship. Unlucky for them it's actually Rostov (Richard Lynch) with his bad guys. First scene of mindless violence. These guys just don't know when to stop shooting. Excellent stuff although the next scene with Rostov is quite more mindless. Later on that. Anyway after that BAM! The movie title shows up and then finally the man himself Matt Hunter (Chuck Norris) is seen taking an easy cruise through a swamp. Yep, former man of the government now lives happily by wrestling with crocodiles. That will soon change and hell will break loose. Would you hurt Chuck's pet armadillo? Don't think so.
Now to the promised Rostov scene which is so ridiculous that I'm completely fascinated by it. Worth the movie alone. What do you do after completing a drug deal? First you push a metal cocaine straw up a girls nostril, then you shoot the guy in the nuts and finally you throw the girl out of the window. Amazing. Rostov is a very cool guy. But not as Hunter off course. When you're planning an invasion on USA with 1000 people the last thing you want to do is blow up Hunter's house and kill his friend and hurt his armadillo pet. Well Hunter doesn't think twice. He grabs two uzi's and starts off the rampage. And have to note that's one crazy idea of an invasion. 1000 people? Will they never learn.
Rostov is actually terrified by Hunter. He has nightmares of Chuck whispering "It's time to die." Poor old Rostov. Guy can't take a decent nap. And his invasion sucks too much. But at least Hunter is going to have guys to kill. And we will see lots of other violent mysteries thanks to it. For example killing a couple for no apparent reason or blowing up houses on Christmas eve. Great.
The female reporter character has no meaning whatsoever and that is very interesting indeed. I mean she really just uses up some film time by being irritating to the bone. And naturally she's always there where the action is just like Hunter. It's like he can predict the future. You try putting a bomb on a school bus. What you will get is Hunter bringing it back to you and saying "Ya lose this?" Boom go the bad guys. Same thing when trying to blow up a church.
Another scene of pure carnage is the shopping moll fight. Hunter busts in the place with his jeep destroying everything in his path. It's a very good scene especially if you ever wished of destroying a bunch of stores. Chuck rules. By the way there is a scene where Hunter is enjoying a B-movie!!!
The ending itself is packed with violence of highest degree. Haven't seen so much bullets flying in a long time. And so many tanks, damn! I could go on forever with this review but why? Just take lots of beer and watch this movie. Matt Hunter is the man and who doesn't love Chuck Norris?!
